And what is your question? I personally think you could get a better deal on a used digital SLR if you know where to look. But if you've got the money and it's what you want, just go for it.

if you try bestcameras and print out their best quote for the same, then take the printout to Jessops and ask them if they could beat that price. At worst they will match it!!

Did this myself 3 weeks ago - apparently they will at least match any up to date price from any competitor as long as you provide a current/dated printout.

Hmm, well IMO I would just get the 400D and the 18-55mm and spend the other money on a better lenses. I mean the 90-300 is a great starter lens but you will have to upgrade if you get serous into photography. I would get, the 400D w/ kit (18-55mm) and 2 GB card, learn the camera. Upgrade to like either a 70-200mm f/4 or the nicer L lens the 70-200mm f/2.8
