How do I get a dime out of the lens of my digital camera?

My camera was in my purse....with a bunch of spare change and I took it out to take a picture of something, and A dime was wedged in the lens. I tried to take it out but It just got more stuck.

Chew up a stick of gum. Put the gum on a pencil eraser & press it against the dime & pull it out.

Works like a charm. My wife had it happen with a makup case she carries & I just happened to be chewing gum & gave it a try.

Get professional help. You don't want to scratch the lens.

The only thing I can think of you could try without damaging the shutter mechanism would be something like a suction cup, but since you say you already tried getting it out and it didn't work and it's now more stuck, I'd recommend you just take the camera to the repair store to get it fixed before you totally ruin it. Digital cameras are very delicate pieces of machinery and if you tinker around with them without the right tools, you'll probably do more harm than good.

Take it to a camera shop, let them do it,

then BUY a CASE for it so it doesn't happen again!!!
You will be lucky if you haven't damaged the lens or shutter
