I dropped my camera, and now the lens is stuck out and it won't turn on. Is there anything I can do? |
So, I dropped my Kodak EasyShare V603 camera, only about a foot above the ground, and the camera just turned off (but with the lens still stuck out). So, I go to turn it back on and the start up "KODAK" screen comes on, it makes the start up noise, and then just turns off again. It's not a lack of power, because it's plugged into the charger right now... and the same thing is still happening. And still, the lense just stays still, no movement. ummm i'm telling, you broke it! you probably have something out of balance... take it to a repair shop. it depends. You have to check your warranty that came with the camera. You usually have a 1 or 2 years to take it back if anything happens. So if your warranty is still good, you can take it back and get a new one. Yes, try pressing the lens in by the outside rim of the camera, around the screen. You probably have to press hard, it worked for me. yeah i have done that too and i had to buy a new one which sucks but yeah theres not much u can do but trash it If the internal lens barrel gets knocked out of alignment it will cause that condition. If the camera senses that the lens is not in the proper position or not moving, it will turn back off rather than cause more damage. Pushing on the lens barrel to try to fix it will usually cause more problems than it already has. It has to be disassembled to be repaired. get it repaired |
