I have a miloltra 800 si auto focus camera and would like to use these lens on a dslr camera. I have tamron 35/135 and 28/200 that i would like to purchase a dslr to use them
thank you. Minolta is gone they sold there camera division to Sony last year. The Sony A100 will use your old lenses though. I wouldn't get a Minolta digital because they don't really have a warranty. Sony will fix them but it takes forever. Although with those two lenses I would just sell them are get a Nikon or a Canon. I am guessing those lenses are about 10 years old. They will most likely not perform will on a digital aways. Aways the 35-135 isn't needed due to the fact that its in the same range of the 28-200 unless the 23-135 has a better F stop. Plus there is a 1.5 times factor with digital. So you really will have a 52.5-202.5 and a 42-300 lens. Non if which have any wide angle. If you wanted to go with Sony I would get the A100 kit with the 18-70 for $899 and use the 28-200 and sell the 35-135 (52.5-202). Or sell them both and get a Nikon D80 with a 18-55 and 70-300mm for $1199. the latest camera that can use that lens is the Sony Alpha which is a 10 megapixel DSLR. i believe that most of the digital minoltas are already discontinued, although you can still buy them online. Minolta Maxxums are still available, the models 5D and 7D are good choices. |
