Lens on Casio camera broke will they know it was dropped?

The lens is not coming out of the camera because is was dropped. There is no external damage and the camera is still under warranty (the camera was bought referbished). Will it be obviouse that the camera is dropped or is there a chance they wont be able to tell?
I took it to a shop and they said it needs a new lens assembly... $250, which is more then I paid for the camera!!!
Is it worth it to try and send it in?

It is not being repaired now, so you only have the cost of shipping to loose.

Call them and get an RMA number and then send it in. If there is an obvious internal sign it was dropped they may give you a price to repair it.

Definitely not. Welcome to digital point and shoot cameras. Better keep your camera in your museum and buy a new one.
