Is it ok to clean a camera lens with saline??? |
Is it ok to clean a camera lens with saline??? No, just put it in the dishwasher. It may have the same effect. No, I would go to your local camera store and see what they have to clean lens I would reccomend against it, because if you don't get the lens COMPLETELY dry, salt deposits will form, and cause serious problems with image quality. then, you need to rub or scrape off the saline deposits, and that's just a pain in the behind. My suggestion: Use a lens cleaning cloth, and if there's serious gunk on the lens that you can't get off just by rubbing, use a SMALL amount of water. No way!!! Saline is a salt solution and may scratch the lens glass. In addition, you will also corrode the metal ring. Lens cleaning solution and special tissue paper are widely available and they are very inexpensive. Don't take a chance. I took a photography class at college. I was told to use the cloths that are used to clean glasses because the lens can be scratched very easy. Maybe try going to a specialty camera shop. they should be able to tell you in more detail Don't use saline. |
