Kodak C340 lens is stuck...? |
Hello, I was wondering if anyone out here in the wonderful world of cyberspace could help me. I have a Kodak C340 digital camera. I was just outside taking a few pix when suddenly the lens wouldn't focus anymore. So I turned it off hoping it just needed a quick "restart." But when I turned it off, the lens didn't retract into the camera like it's supposed to. In fact, it didn't even budge. Now, when I try to turn it on, it acts like it's trying to retract, but doesn't and turns itself off. Anyone have any suggestions? I had read somewhere that gently hitting it was supposed to sometimes work. But I tried that, and it didn't help. Help please? Thanks in advance. Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. |
