Dropped camera? |
I dropped my polaroid i533 digitial camera recently, and the lens zoom is still have out, have in. I try turning it on and off but all it does is show a picture on the LCD screen for 2 seconds, make a beeping noise, and then turns off again. It wasnt a terrible fall either, only 2 feet, although it was on concrete. It is past its warranty but I wonder if it can be fixed? Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. you can get it fixed or replaced but it would cost you big money. i had that problem irecall with my fuji film camera and i just changed the batteries and let it alone for a day or two and the next time i turned it on it was back to normal. i hope it wokrs out. good luck I just got a new i533 for my granddaughter's birthday. It was on clearance for $40. I doubt you could get it fixed for that price. It doesn't take much of a fall to ruin a delicate digicam. Use the strap next time. I am going to tell my granddaughter (who will be 7) that she is not allowed to touch it unless it is hanging around her neck! :-) |

The 3xi is a good camera but has absolutely no manual modes. It is not a real good camera to learn photography with. Sell it and find yourself a 7xi. A few more dollars but a much better return.... i think you should just buy a new one... the cost for repair is almost the same as the new one... how old was the camera? digital camera prices are cheaper as soon as a newer model was introduce.....
