If i broke my camera how do i get it fixed if the camera was sent to me?

I dropped my GE A730 camera today, and now the lens won't go in and it won't turn on because it says lens error! How do I get it fixed. Do I send it back?
and how much will it cost?

When I had to send my Olympus camera to the manufacturer, it cost over 110.00. I had to mail it to them.

If the warranty expired then it will probably cost more to repair than to buy a new one.

Well warranties do not cover abuse so I am afraid that returning it for another is out of the question. I would invest in a camera strap with your new camera purchase.

This is what we like to call taking responsibility for the things we own. What you should do is contact the manufacture and ask them what it would cost to have them fix it. Now I can tell you it's going to cost close to what you paid for the camera so I would look at another one and be more careful. Camera's are not toys they are tools for artist and should be treated with care for they do not like being dropped.
