Focal Length/Lens-Distance?

A camera has a focal length of 50 mm. For the light to be properly focused, what is the lens-distance if light comes from:

a)infinity

b)a flower is placed 20 cm in front of the lens

Using v for the lens distance:

(a)
0 + 1 / v = 1 / 5
v = 5.0 cm. Parallel light from infinity converges to the focus.

(b)
1 / 20 + 1 / v = 1 / 5
v = 6.67 cm.
