Repair nikkor 18-70 ED lens?

i dropped the camera.
It works fine except that the ring for the focal distance came out and is stuck together with the spacer ringbetween the front and back of the lense.
I see that they move front and back and turn at the same time but i can't find how to put them back.
Where can i find instructions to open and put the lens back together ?

A story--I am not trying to be funny here.

A friend of mine decided to do a little surgery on his Canon kit lens--I thought the word was 'disassemble'. Anyway, after removing just a few parts, we couldn't even try to "restore" it to its original condition. Luckily I had just given him the Canon 17-40 mm f 4 L lens that costs 7 times more and he felt he no longer needed the kit lens.

I am sorry it is broken. I think it is best if you brought it to a camera store (a real camera store, not best buy or anything like that)--they might be able to fix it.

Note that it may cost more to repair this than to get a new replacement. One good thing from this is that the camera did not break.
