Can I clean Monster off my digital camera?

I have a Kodak EasyShare camera. A few days ago, I spilled Monster on it. The lens is sticky, and it won't open. When I turn the camrea on, the lens moves slow, comes out only a tiny bit, and stops. The screen says 'Lens Error'. The memory card slot is also sticky, and won't close. Is my camera hopeless? Is there any way to clean it?

You're likely best off getting a new camera. Warranties are only good for faulty assembly and/or materials. Water and impact are NOT covered under manufacturer's warranties.

Perhaps if you actually bought a protection plan, it would be covered, but in general if it is shipped off to the factory, they will look at, see the sticky residue and say "Not covered."

Use a damp cloth (not wet, just damp enough to break up the goo), and wipe the camera down, if you have a warranty on the camera, do not do the following, but if you don't have a warranty, open the camera to get to the card slot and other things, and carefully rub down the internals of the camera, be extremely careful on little wires and connectors inside the camera as you can cause a static short (static electricity is no friend to electronics), leave the camera open so it can dry, then reassemble the camera and try it again
