I want to get a new DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera... You input will be greatly appreciated.?

I currently own a Sony DSC-F707 camera and I am extremely happy with the service I have gotten from it. I'm now at the point where I like to upgrade to a new DSLR.

I have looked at several but the one feature I would love to have on them is missing on all the ones I've checked out. I never thought the ability to have a viewer at up to 90 degrees off the lens would be so important to me but having the ability to see what I'm taking pictures of when I raise the camera over other people or close to the ground without actually having to lay down on the floor is now a major factor in making my decision.

Is there any good DSLR that has a rotating digital display available?

I'm specifically looking for a 10MP or better camera.

I don't think the other people even bothered to read your description of what you're looking for.

The only SLR with a live view LCD that articulates like you desire is the Olympus E-3, a 10mp camera.

See here, about 1/3 the way down the page:

Another option with other cameras would be to get a "right angle viewer" which is an eyepiece which fits over the viewfinder.

Finally, look for something called a Zigview. It's an LCD viewer that fits onto an SLR viewfinder, giving you the angled or remote view. It might be cheaper than an E-3, as you might be able to find one that will fit an entry-level SLR.

Here's a review: http://www.ephotozine.com/article/Zigvie...

In the U.S. you can find it at the pro online shops like bhphotovideo.com

Hello,

There are some canon models that offer "live view" through the display but none of them offer a moveable display. These inclde the 1D mark III, 1Ds mark III, 40D, and rebel XSi. Some of the higher end point and shoots offer that type of screen but the canon dslr's don't. I don't know about nikons.

Donna

You won't find that 90 degree view in any of the DSLR cameras however, you can get a 90 degree "angle view finder" to attach to your camera's view finder.

When you buy a DSLR, you are buying into a system of lenses, and accessories, you'll want to think about the availabilty of lenses for what you want to shoot and accessories. Canon and Nikon currently have the most available..

Go to http://dpreview.com and compare the different models side by side. See which features appeal to you. Read the reviews.

Then go to a real camera store (not Best Buy or Wal Mart) and handle the different cameras, try them with different lenses, and buy which feels right to you.

Most answers already given are INCORRECT Olympus has several models that include Live View mode and some of the models have "articulated" screens that can be tilted or swiveled. These include the E330 and the professional grade E3 but there are a number of models that have been released recently so you should check the specs. You would need to check the individual models for the specifications. On May 13th they announced a new model, the E520, and I have not seen detailed specifications on that one yet and it won't be available for a few weeks but I would not be surprised if it has more features in it's live view mode. I have provided a link to the DSLR section of the official Olympus America web site in the source list below.

Olympus is a major, but often overshadowed, camera company because they are smaller than Canon, Nikon and Sony. However their hallmark has been innovation, major improvements to existing designs and new developments in camera technology. Their DSLRs are very compact and durable and the lenses are some of the best in the world.

PS. Although 10MP is typical. when you start using a DSLR the sensor itself, and hence the individual pixels, are larger so the number of mega-pixels becomes less important. The second link is to some sample pictures I have made, most with a 5 MP model Olympus E1 camera.

Hope that Helps. Email if you have more specific questions.

The Sony A300 & A350 both have Live View with Auto Focusing. If you need to hold the camera over your head just flip the screen down. If you're using it at ground level just flip the screen up. Sony also has their version of Image Stabilization in the camera body.

Sony has released a line of Cael Zeiss lenses in addition to the 26 Sony branded lenses already available, plus every legacy Minolta Maxxum AF lens made since 1985 will work perfectly with the A300 & A350.

At the Photography Marketing Association (PMA) meeting earlier this year Sony announced a Pro level full-frame sensor DSLR to be released late this year.

Although many will say that Sony hasn't been in the DSLR business very long, Sony has long been a leader in optics, digital sensor technology and video equipment. Also, don't forget who marketed the world's first non-film SLR: Sony. The Sony Mavica of 1981 was an SLR with 3 interchangeable lenses and although not digital, it did not use film.

I think Canon EOS 40D is the best

the 2nd Canon Digital Rebel XSi

And the 3th is Canon Digital Rebel XTi

Canon and Nikon are your best bets... Look at the Canon Rebel XTi
