Broken digital camera lens? |
ok so my friend was looking at my camera and he dropped it on the ground (on a deck). when i turn it on it says lens error and won't take any pictures...the camera itself works absolutely fine. i can view all my pictures on it and everything, its just the lens that is broken, and the lens won't go down all the way. the camera was a casion exilim z60 (its about 2 years old) the camera was probably about 300 dollars when i bought it, would it be cheaper to have it fixed or to just buy a whole new camera all together? casio* not casion Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Do you see that the lens is broken? Try turning it slightly. |
