Exilem Camera lens HELP.!?

i have a Exilim 7.2 megapixel camera. i put the camera on my window sill. my stupid cat knocked it off. i turned it on 2 make sure it still worked.. well the lens thing poped out and it just kept beeping. it turned off by itself. i turned it back on and then the lens went in and it said lens error. i can see the picture for a second when i turn on my camera its all blury. i dont have the receipt so i cant have the warrent. idkk how to fix it HELP.!

When the lens breaks off from impact damage it is usually not user serviceable, often not worth servicing. It appears that the lens movement assembly, or the sensors have been damaged. It is quite possible that one of the lenses inside is also jammed.

What can you do? Not much. Warranty will not cover such damage anyways. You can fiddle around with it, it might work again (if it does, then buy a lottery ticket).

You have two options from here.
1. Send it for servicing. Contact Casio directly for the nearest location. Their tech support number is on the inside of their box, or go to casio.com. Expect to pay $100 to $300 for the repair. As a general rule of thumb, if the repair costs 50% or more of the replacement cost, replace it.

2. Replace it. Visit you local camera store for this. They can determine your needs best. Ask them about the Olympus 1030SW and 850SW models. They are shock-proof to 6 and 5 feet respectively. Perhaps a good replacement option.
