Sony cybershot dsc-t1 picture and screen are warped looking?

i've only had this digital camera for 2 years and it hasn't been in water, hit, or in the sun. It's always in a case. It's been about 4 months since it's been turned on and all of the sudden when I did turn it on the screen picture and any pictures or video taken are all warped looking. Can't make out the picture. The pictures i've taken prior to this problem are still all intact and fine. Everything from now is just warped, no other words describe it. Sony would charge about $150 and similar to local camera repair shops. I've done a master reset and still nogo. Anyone have any idea how to fix on the cheap? Might be an internal lens that fell out of place too but not sure how to check. Is it ok to open up this camera on my own and look around?

Contact Sony. They made a bunch of screwed up cameras. Don't pay for a repair; yours is on the list. C Here:

Not Your Fault. Sonys fault. Make them fix it. Should be covered, even outside of warrantee.

Are the menu's warped or do they look normal? If they are warped, the problem is with the LCD.. if they are normal but your pictures are warped, you've got a misaligned element in your lens. How do the pictures look on your computer?

Is it OK to look around on your own? If you've got to ask that question, probably not. However, if your just going to end up buying a new one, you might as well try it before you buy one. Though getting it properly repaired costs less than a new one.
