I looked it up and it seems to serve the same purpose (to avoid constantly buying batteries) although I could be wrong. It's for my Canon powershot A570 IS They are used for two entirely different purposes.
The battery charger will suit your needs better. You can charge one set of batteries while you are using another. If you get NiMH AA's that have a high mA-h rating (2300 or higher) the batteries will last much longer.
Don't forget to use power management techniques when shooting. Use the LCD as little as possible and after each shot sequence turn off the camera. The actual recording of the image uses the least of the power. LCD鈥檚, auto-focus and zoom features use the most.
AC Adaptors are used when the camera is in a studio situation and is not going to be moved. I have a set up for shooting small products and I have an AC adapter attached to the tripod so I can use the AC power when I am working there. Walking around with your camera attached to an extension cord doesn't make much sense. An ac adapter will need to be plugged into a power outlet, that's not really convenient if you need to actually use the camera to take pictures battery charger |
