How many pictures will my 256 megabyte take on my digital camera?

I have a Canon A610, and my sister is getting married and I want to make sure this will be enough pictures to last the ceremony and afterwards. Does anyone have a ball park idea? (I don't want to have to sit and take random photos to get to the "memory full") Thank you.

it is a 5 megapixel camera, and to be honest, I'm pretty lame when it comes to electronics (I am a girl!) and don't know how to change the amount. I guess I could read the book, but as mentioned, I'm a girl and we have a wedding in four days, I don't really have time. I appreciate your help though!

you should get around 175-200 pictures on the 256 card for the 5mp camera.

If you can take movies, that's what all the memory is for. You can only fill up the memory if you take little movie clips.

depending on the Pixels of your camera, I would get a bigger card. go to frys electronics if you have one around you and get a 1 GB card for $50.00.

My Kodak Z-700 shoots up to 275-300 still photos on a 256 Mb SD memory card, when using the 4 Mpix. setting (2304 x 1600), which is more than enough considering today`s rendering capabilities of computer monitors or TVs.

depends on how many mega pixels you are going to set the camera if 3 you can store approx 213, 4 128 pics, 5 102 pics and 6 around 80 pictures so depending on the mega pixels thats what you'll get
