7.1 Megapixel
*4X Optical Zoom
* Very good photo quality, noise levels low through ISO 400 (in good light)
* Well built for the price
* Very good performance
* LCD visible in low light
* Some manual controls
* AF-assist lamp, good low light focusing
* Good movie and continuous shooting modes
* Impressive software bundle
* Uses AA batteries; great battery life
* USB 2.0 High Speed support i think nikon d20 personally, although i have a canon digital rebel. i have never used a song cyber shot. the cost compparision of a new nikon adn a new canon is close to the same for about $700-1000, depending on where you shop. Look for jsut a canon digital rebel, 6.3 MP, and you can find a good deal on a decent camera (that is the one I have and they should be around $400-500 since there are 2 newer models since that one). If you want a reliable digital camera that takes great pictures and is relatively cheap check out the Canon PowerShot SD600. I know many people that have one and they're all extremely satisfied with it.
http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-Di... I have a canon S400 4mp I have had this camera for about 6 years and I have put it through hell and back and it still work like the day I bought it. So for me I would not look at any other brand. Canon is the way to go for the price. This is the one that I am about to buy http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controll... Go to Digital Camera review(link below).
That question is to loaded for Y/A. All your going to get on here are peoples personal opinion, which is to promote the camera that they bought cause that's all they know.
I have a Canon Rebel X/T - it's a digital SLR, takes fantastic pictures has loads of options and capability. But I like photography, I've had good experience with Canon film cameras, but it isn't a point and shoot.
For a point and shoot, I got my wife the Casio Exlim(I've actually bought 3 of these, one for my wife and each of my daughters). Reason - it's small/thin easy to carry in a shirt pocket. It's very fast to go from powered off to ready, it has easy to understand pre-configured situational settings (called best shot) that even a blond can understand (all my girls are blonds - it's a running joke in our house). It takes really good pictures, the color balance is great.
My first digital camera was an Olympus - I didn't like it so much, but then it was my first.... **Insufficient information for meaningful answer**
ALL cameras today have more than 5 Mpix. Sony, Nikon and Canon are all equally reliable, and to service any of them- you have to send it back to the authorized service center... no difference. Nikon's are top notch in DSLRs, but their digicams are mid-pack. Sony and Canon are good- but you do pay a bit extra for their name. Also consider Panasonic and Fuji. You may get 'more' for 'less'. And don't leave out Casio, Olympus, Pentax or Kodak.
There are a hundred excellent cameras on the market.
There's no way for us to know if you are interested in a Nikon D2Xs (About $4500) or a Canon 400XT (about $750) or a Sony W55 for about $200.
Try giving us some information about the type of photography you'd like to do, your level of experience or enthusiasm, size and cost desires- and then perhaps we can help.
oh- don't get the A550 recommended below. The screen is small and low resolution, it's a bit on the slow side, and has poor high ISO capability. It's Canon's 'low priced' line.
