Which digital camera to go with?

So I have about 220 to spend. I have been looking at camera like the sony cyber shot W55 and the canon powershot a540, maybe even the a560. I wanted optical image stabilization, but it looks like that is out of my price range. any ideas/cameras? I

Sony is all proprietary garbage. You will be stuck with having to use only their products like memory sticks. They can stick it. You want stabilization? Hold the camera still. Get a Fuji. Had a Nikon and the images were blurry on an expensive one. Canon is a good bet and always rated well. Kodak is underrated and makes fine cameras but can be pricey but worth it. I like Fuji. Very cheap and excellent cameras. Don't always go with the more megapixel thing. Sometimes they interpolate the pixels to exaggerate the megapixel claims. I have had 2.0 megapixel Fujis take better pictures than their 4.0 megapixel cameras. This goes for all brands. Sometimes a less megapixel camera will take better photos because of the quality of the CCD (charge coupled device) and how it functions. These companies usually don't tell you how it functions but you can find reviews on a particular camera that will tell you the real truth about a particular brand or model. Don't go by brand or megapixels only. The larger the megapixels the larger the memory card you will need and some get to be expensive. Sony ain't never cheap. Battery issues with Sony proprietary batteries will always be a problem. I like the Fuji because I can take my own batteries with me. Lithium proprietary batteries are expensive. Nothing worse than a dead camera in the middle of the day. At least with a camera that takes double A batteries you can always take extra sets with you. Those internal batteries or proprietary ones will let you down on alot of cameras. Lion batteries = dead camera with not much of an on the spot solution. I like digital cameras where I can at least throw in a set of alkaline batteries if I need to.

Go with Camera's company like Kodak, Canon and Nikon. Because they make their own lense, and easy upgrade.

Get a Canon! No doubt!

I have one and it's spectacular! The quality of the pictures is amazing!

Plus, it's reccomended by even professinal photographers.
It's easy to navigate and it's small.
:]

The only negative side is the battery life, but it's rechargable, so don't sweat it.

Nikon CoolPix!!

If you are looking for Image stabalization, then one and only best camera is Nikonm i tried lot od experiments, Nikon only i got clear stablized image.

If you're looking for a great camera for even under that price go with the Fuji F20, you can't go wrong with it. great image stablization, also takes a great action shot, its about 199.99 retail, its availble at target on clearance right now, its an awesome camera, the fuji f series is really excellent, stay away from the a series though. also try and stay away from kodak they are too basic.

Try the kodak easyshare z710 takes great pixs.
