I have a Canon Power Shot A529 4.0 mega pixel camera. It's been eating AA batteries like popcorn! What would be better: lithium or rechargable batteries? Or something else entirely? Generally rechargable NiMH (nickle metal hydride) batteries are good for small portable electronics. You need to look for ones with higher milliamps (mA) basically the higher it is the longer the battery will last in your camera. Usually 1600mA to 2200mA is safe to use without giving too little or too much power to the camera.
There are also recharagable lithium batteries. Lithium batteries have the advantage of being lighter in weight than other batteries. These might be hard to find.
The AA alkaline batteries you've been using just aren't up to the task of powering the high power usage electronics we love.
All in all you should check your manual or the Canon web site for the recommended battery types and maxium mA that your camera can handle. rechargeable NiMH (nickle metal hydride
rechargeable lithium batteries. Lithium batteries are lighter in weigh
good luck
but you can always keep a lot of AA ones around |
