I have recently been given access to a new sigma 28-300mm f3.5-6.3 dg macro lens, a digital canon eos 400d and the 18-55mm lens that it came with . I have had a canon eos 500 for ages now and used it primarily with the standard lens that it came with. I want to know whether or not I would be able to use the sigma lens and the 18-55mm lens from the new digital camera with my old canon eos 500? it may sound strange but i like my old camera and want to continue using film, but would like to know if i can take advantage of these other lenses with my old camera. the lenses would be on loan to me and i love my old camera so would not want to damage either. Anyone able to offer me some expert advice? All EOS compatible lenses will work on all EOS cameras ... except there are some digital only lenses where vignetting will occur if the lens is used on digital cameras with image sensors larger than APS-C size or 35mm SLR cameras ... and sometimes for "arts" sake, that can be a cool tool |
