can any one tell me which is the best camera among sony, nikon,canon.
my options are 7.1 MP, 3X optical zoom, 2.5 inch LCD Some cameras from all 3 companies you listed for the qualifications you listed...10,000 Rs = ~$250 US dollars

These cameras are basically the same, so the final decision will be up to you, but I have linked to their respective specs pages so you can check them out for yourself. I know you are asking between sony, nikon and canon but I have another suggestion. take a look at Fuji FinePix F31fd. If more people would read the manual more than once, they would be able to take better pictures. Usually, the person assumes it is the camera when it could be them not knowing exactly what to do. Just give yourself more photographic knowledge by doing more reading.
I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras and learn as much as they can from the internet.
Go to the store and hold them and try them to see what they feel like in your hands.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.
