Which camera is better, the Canon Sd630 or the Canon Sd800? Which to buy?

I dont really know much about digital cameras, I just want a camera that will take good, clear pictures. I cant figure out which camera is better and which one I should buy.

I agree with Morey and in addition, I would vote for the SD800 because the SD630 does not offer an optical viewfinder. Okay, I use the LCD too, but I would like the opportunity to turn off the LCD and just use the regular viewfinder when I don't want to go poking my camera a foot and a half in front of me to take the picture or when I want to conserve my battery. Get the SD800.

Be aware, though, that the widest wide angle portions will be a bit distorted if you use the full-wide 28 mm position. This actually kind of makes the SD700-IS more attractive, because its wide angle - although "only" 35 mm - is all good and it will zoom out to 140 mm instead of only 105 mm, which is pretty mild as far as a telephoto lens goes. It's also about fifty bucks cheaper than the SD800-IS.

Check out this comparison page. Click on "In-depth review" and "Read Owner Opinions" for each camera. Be sure to note that the reviews are many pages long so you don't stop after page one. Check the sample images, also. You can enlarge these to full size images if you click on the link below the picture. You will have to then put your cursor in the white space to the right of the picture and click once. After that, you can pass your cursor over the image and it will turn into a magnifier. Click it as a magnifier once and the image will go to full size and you can really examine the detail or look for artifacts like fringing or noise.

The SD800 has both image stabilization and a wide angle 28mm lens. Both things that the SD630 doesn't have, and both things are really terrific features.

So- I'd say the SD800 is the better camera. But- it costs more as well.

the 800 is better
it has the stablizer
to steady your hand shaking

here's a link on ebay where you can read reviews of them by ebay members
