Digital camera???

what is a good digital camera, not too pricy, but small and takes excellent pictures? I had a canon that I love, but it isn't working, I am not looking to spend a lot of money, but want something good I can take out with me and be able to maybe slide in my purse, or back pocket, I like to have it with me all the time.... any suggestions on brands, or specifics would be great!!! thanks

You'll get fans of different cameras and different brands with different ideas about what's not too pricey. Sony has some excellent compact cameras. So does Kodak. So does Canon, but then you start looking at spending extra money. The factors you'll need to consider are megapixels (5 is plenty if you're not printing anything larger than an 8x10) and OPTICAL zoom (3x is probably the best you'll find in a small, inexpensive camera). Don't be dazzled by digital zoom. It just blows up a picture in the camera and wastes megapixels. The bottom line? Check the sale pages. Best Buy and Wal-Mart are always running specials on cameras. Look at dpreview.com (that's digital photography review) for the best customer reviews in the market. Everything is explained in much better detail than any of us can muster on here. The bottom line is that you'll probably expect to spend around $150 for what you need. Good luck.

The highest quality small camera that's really inexpensive is the fuji F20. It's available for $139 from a few places, and there is a $30 rebate available from Fuji. So- for $109 you get about as good image quality and better high ISO (low light sensitivity) as you'll get in any camera under $400.

go grab a nikon s7 its nice small and has very good clearity. it has a 3 inch lcd screen and like 7.1 mega pixals. i have one and its great. its inexpensive probable alot cheaper now

Why don't you go for another Canon?
You have the SD card etc..
