I have used Kodak & Fuji for digital cameras. the Kodak was 6.0mp and the Fuji is 9.0mp
Right now I am thinking about getting a 10.0-10.2mp digital camera as I love taking pictures. I want something simple and nothing big. I am also doing research on circuitycity.com and bestbuy.com comparing my Fuji with the others.
But I would like to know which camera you would suggest out of Canon, Casio, Fuji, Olympus, and Sony. Kodak doesn't have anything great in the high mp's unless its a professional big camera. Please let me know and you're reason! Thank you :) price doesn't matter too me. I guess under $600 is fine. As a previous imaging specialist at Circuit City here's my take.
Brands in order from total quality (high to low)
1. Canon
2. Sony
3. Samsung/Panasonic
If you are looking at a 10+ megapixel, I would suggest a Canon or Panasonic. They also have the 10+ mp in long range zoom and the panasonic is less bulky. Nikon is slacking on quality lately and we had a LOT of those returned. Do you do a lot of large size print like 20X30 or larger? Or do you do a lot of cropping with your picture? Or you simply want a new one?? First of all, I don't see any different between a 9MP and 10MP at all. As the matter of fact, if you don't do large print or crop your picture, there's no advantage for having anything above 4MP. I once print a 24X36 poster using my 4MP fuji and it came out just fine. I don't think I would able to see any different if I'd use a 8MP camera for that poster.
If you really love taking picture and want to take it to a next level, consider getting a DSLR. It'll allow you to do more creative shooting and have total control of the camera. |
