And why is the A710 IS more expensive? The 720 was announce August 2007 while the 710 is a year older. Street price for the 720 is $20 more then the 710. The 710 has a 7 megapixel sensor, but the 720 has 8 megapixels. The 710 has both shutter and aperture priority, and the 720 has neither. In a continuous mode the 710 fires at 1.7 frames per second (fps) while the 720 does 1.3 -- no big deal...but -- and the 720 weighs one ounce more then the 710. Bottom line -- the 720 is a much better camera with its 8 megapixels for only $20 more. The name of this game is all about megapixel size of the sensor. Not a lot ... just a tiny difference in the MP count on the A720. You will notice when you follow the link that the A710 is priced about $25 less than the A720.
