*SoulEyes Photography>>>Canon Digital Camera

I am looking for a digital camera, i saw on the net the following:?

a canon digital slr 350d with one (1) standard lens for 561 dollars for a olympus d500 14-45mm lense and 40-45mm lense for 600 dollars.

what do you think?

Please verify the site from where you are purchasing your camera. I have been doing a lot of research for buying a digital camera (Panasonic FZ50) and every time i see a new "low" price on offer, it turns out the seller has a dubious record. Many sellers lure you by offering great prices, but then do not match up to it or force you into buying expensive accessories.

Try this site http://www.resellerratings.com to determine how good/bad your seller is.

Also, you may want to consider the cost of lenses when you determine your budget. Typically the lens that comes with any DSLR, typically is not great. And considering thats the most critical component of a camera you would do well to invest in one. Consider the overall cost to see if it suits your budget.

try searchin for it on cnet.com and then look to see which merchants carry that specific camera

I'd expect the Canon 350D with one lens (any lens) to cost more than $561... unless it's used, or unless the seller is a fraud. The going rate with the Canon 18-55mm zoom lens is about $650. Great camera for the price. It's been replaced by the Canon 400D (for a lot more money) but the 350D can still do just about anything you could possibly want. Here's a review: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos...
With Olympus, I trust you're talking about the E500. I'd skip it. It's slow to start up and it has a tiny viewfinder.

If you are more concerned about what you can shoot than other things, go for the Olympus E500 (2 lenses better than just standard lens without wide angle)

This forum is about the 2 cameras you mentioned, you might have been there:

http://www.pricegrabber.com shows the lowest price on the internet for the 350D and "standard" 18-55 lens is $599.95. Perhaps your seller is not selling the body with a Canon lens. Be sure that you know what you are getting.

I wouldn't buy the Olympus anyhow.
