Can anyone help? I've got a 256MB memory card for my digital canon, but it says the memory is full after around 15 photos. When I upload photos to PC, do they store them somewhere else on the camera after I've deleted them? Please help, i'm going on holiday next week and really want to fix it! Thanks Your computer is probably seeing your memory card as another hard drive. If so, you may be able to browse and find a trash can folder. If you do see this folder, empty it. Then when you transfer files in the future, have your software delete them when you transfer. That way it's actually deleted. well.. no the camera does not store the pictures after you deleted them but if you want to take a lot of pictures at one time, go to "Wal- mart" or "Circuit city" and they sell 1 or 2 GB memory chips and they hold a LOT of pictures. After you have uploaded ALL your photos to the PC, you need to FORMAT the memory card.
This is done in the MENU of the camera. Check your user manual if you don't know how to do it.
Formatting will permanently delete all files from the memory card, so always make sure you have definitely uploaded all photos/videos to your PC first.
Also, I would suggest that you buy a much larger memory card...as 256MB is quite tiny (especially if planning to go on a holiday).
I would suggest that you buy at least 1GB as a minimum (which will provide 4 times the photos compared to your current card).
You should also...ALWAYS format a brand new memory card prior to first use.
good luck... |
