It depends what you want the camera for. If you are here sking this question, I'd say that the Fuji is not for you, as it is a bit of a cult favorite for portraiture.

Canon make several DSLR's and they are all good. Since you mentioned the Fuji, I'd also rule out the Rebel's as they are quite a step down from the Fuji DSLR. You'd probably be happy with anything from the 30D on up. The 5D is awesome.

Canon

Don't know about those but I have a Sony 7.2 megapixel and I am very happy with it.

Go to one of the camera specialty stores and let someone there explain the capabilities.

I think Canon is going to be better for the most part.

Canon, better lenses, better images in low light

I didn't think fujifilm made SLR cameras. but their cameras do offer many of the same options at a more affordable price.

canon is my choice
my suggestion

digital camera GUIDE
be sure to check titles on the left side
the guide should answer your questions

the Fuji S5 Pro is based on a Nikon D200 body- which is quite good. Given it's fuji sensor, it does have some unique properties, and does do a bit better with dynamic range. This is especially helpful if you are taking photos in sunny conditions.

Other than that, the Canons are pretty well proven instruments. You also couldn't go wrong with a Nikon DSLR either.

In the digital dSLR world Canon is the best. followed with a very close second of Nikon. Canon has cheaper dSLR's wothout sacrificing performance. at the other end of the range nothing in the 35mm digi world can compare with the 1D and 1D mark2 the 1D has a 16megapixel sensor ant the mark 2 is the fastest camera in the world for still images. so whichever end of the spectrum you are at the Cnon is the best for a dSLR.

go for canon ....... it might be more logical to have debate between Canon and Nikon

I wouldn't go by brand only. I've been very happy with my Fujifilm but I also used a different model Fujifilm that was a piece of junk. I'm a niche user (low light shots and other special effects) so my opinion might not apply to you, but I'd really like to get one of the Fujifilm cameras with two different size pixels. It greatly increased the range of brightness in one shot.

Image quality? You won't be able to tell the difference in any normal-sized print.

Construction? No difference in normal usage.

Size? Canon's Rebels are too small. Otherwise nothing to choose.

Lens choice? A gazillion Canon vs. a gazillion Nikon.

Value/dollar? Canon.

Resale value? Canon.

Hope this helps.

they are both great manufactures, the most important thing I look at is the Len's! but in this case it's a toss up! both of the manufactures make a great Len's! and you can not go wrong with either of them! if it was my money would go with canon! IT'S YOUR CALL! GOOD LUCK!

Thank You,

Bob

Depends on your budget. I'm addicted to my Rebel XTI (Canon), but it's pricey! In-store~ $850, so I suggest researching to find what best suits your needs from each brand, then get word-of-mouth on each.
