Whats that thunder icon in my digital camera? and thats thunder with an A icon?

i have an old digital camera ixy digital 200 (canon) and i have a camera mode that has thunder like icon and an A with thunder like icon. I wonder what does it do.

other mode icons are: eye (red eye reduction) the star with a man(party/night mode) mountain(landscape)

If you are talking about the lightning bolt looking icon, that means "FLASH" and the "A" means automatic!

Its for the flash! The A setting is for AutoFlash if the camera senses the light levels are too low for a clear picture.....
