I'm looking to buy a new digital camera.Can anyone tell me the difference between a Canon powershot?

Wow, it seems like a long time since I've heard anything about the S2, so I admit here that I cheated and got the difference between it and the S3 from a review site ;)

* S3 is newer of course
* S3 has 6mp, S2 has 5mp
* slightly larger LCD display on the S3
* S3 has a live histogram
* S3 is slightly larger

There's not really a ton of differences between the two but if you want all the details, I suggest you have a look at the S3 review below, which describes the differences between it and the older S2:

This should be an easy one... the S2 IS is an outdated [no longer made] 5mp model which came out in spring of 2005. Any left in stores are either old stock or referbs. The S3 IS is the S2's replacement from 2006 with a 6mp sensor and a few other minor upgrades. The two are quite similar overall, but the S3 is the only one of the two you'll find in stores today.

The real comparison would be between the S3 IS and the new 8mp S5 IS. They share the same lens but have very different image sensors and processors. About $150 at retail separates the two.
