I want to buy a digital camera. Which one is better Sony DSC-H7 or Canon S3 IS. I need an expert advice.?

I have always used Canon cameras and will continue to do so probably forever unless they dramatically change. I would trust sony for a tv or a cd player but not for my images.

You are getting reviews from people who actually use them, and not just someone (like me) who looks at the features and offers you an opinion on specification comparison.

I dont really know much about the Sony, but I just bought a new digital camera, and I spent a few months doing research on the different Canon models... I would have LOVED to get the S3iS, but it was more than I needed! I ended up with the Canon SD1000 and I love it. Based purely on my brand preference and what I know about the S3iS, I'd buy that one over the Sony. Good luck!

Do Sony make cameras?

I am a serial Canon user but I'm afraid I don't know S3 IS. If is a point and shoot?

If you are interested in Canon I would go with the D5. You can get the body for about $500 and then you simply need the lenses.

If you are already shooting with a 35 and have lenses then you need to go with a body type that will fit your lenses.

The S3 IS.

More user friendly, will grow with you as you learn and become more experienced in photography. It is a bit more expensive than other P&S cameras, but it is probably THE top P&S out there right now.
