My camera is a Power Shot SD800 IS (by canon). The program for canon to dowload/edit images looks pretty cool, but I don't know which is more user-friendly or which one has more options. Please help--I'm brand new to digital cameras and their programs! As a mac user, I am very pleased with iPhoto. I don't really do much with my pictures, but iPhoto lets me crop them, add some minor effects and rotate them. It keeps them well organized and is very user friendly.
However, I do have one major issue with iPhoto. As of yet, I have not found a way to resize the image. This leaves my pictures at an incredibly large file size, which drives me crazy! I can't send them to people because they are massive on the screen and take up more hard drive space than most songs.
If the program you received with your camera enables you to crop, edit and resize your photos, I would try that one out first. If you aren't happy with it, you can always go to iPhoto.
Good luck! you can use both, but iPhoto has slightly more features for you to create creative slide shows. The best way to learn it is to use it, its easy. Enjoy your SD800 and have fun :) |
