I wanto to purchase a Digital Camera? What is your recomendation? Pentax ,Canon or Olympus.Specify a model pls

i have had Olympus C-50 and now i am into canon more but pentax special feture, which is taking pix under water, is changing my idea. I have Canon PowerShot SD30 in my mind.

Olympus is fine and has a wide range of models. The same is true for the Coolpix series of Nikon. Which model suits you best you must find out for yourself. I don't know how much you would like to spend... Just one thing: some cameras boast with large zoom ranges, but when you look at it closely, you will find perhaps a small optical zoom and a large digital zoom. Forget the digital zoom and compare only optical zooms!!!

KODAK for sure...try the C310 is a good model to start with.

Sony

Canon Canon Canon... They have the best processosr (DIGIC II) and overall best products.. PowerShot G6.. www.dpreview.com.

I have a panasonic 4.0 with lieca lens that I bought a few years ago and it is great. I highly recommend it

My recommendation is a professional Canon with a nice selection of L lenses. This should set you back 15 to 20 thousand.

I personally went with a Nikon D200 and a 17-55mm zoom. Total cost of $3000.

What's YOUR budget, and what kind of photography are you into?

hard to reccomend without a price range.
i Love my Canon S2IS cost around 280
latest consumer reports has good study to read.

Digital cameras are personal items, they depend on your needs and experience levels. If you are looking for a brand that is usually better, than look at Canon, but even they have some less good cameras. The best is for you to consult an on-line buying guide like www.neocamera.com

You can see in the ultra-compact category the Fuji Finepix F10 is considered the best but is a simple point and shoot. In the compact category, the Canon Powershot A700 is excellent and so are the Canon Powershot A620/A610 and Fuji Finepix E900. Fuji cameras are also very good in image quality and they are among the fastest. Neocamera and DC Resource also have reviews that are complete but kept to a reasonable length.

Check out this review site. It is excellent:

Cheers.

If you just want a point and shoot camera, go for the Fuji F10 or the updated version, the F11, which has more manual features. It is a fantastic camera, and really good for low light shots due to it's high ISO shooting and excellent battery life, I have this camera and I really couldn't fault it. It also has a good flash and large LCD screen. It's a 6.3 mega pixel camera with 3x optical zoom.

IF you are willing to pay $300-400 buy the Canon S80. Tremendous value for the money. Check out dpreview.com - they have great comparisons and reviews.

Check out this website linked below. Go with a Nikon or a Canon -- they are the best. I used a Nikon D70 (500 bucks for the base) and I love it. This website offers tons of packages with all of the cameras and they look like good deals.
