Is The Canon Powershot A620 the best overall digital camera?

there is no "best overall" camera. Each one has it's own features, pro's and con's and such. And- we need to consider each camera within its class. For instance- you couldn't compare teh A620 to a DSLR or an ultra-compact, or a superzoom class.

However, the A620 is a terrific camera in its class, and some reviewers have singled it out as one of the best. But- it's coming up on a year old, which means that it's already starting to get a bit long in the tooth in the digicam world.

I have a Canon A700 and really like it. Easy to use and a lot of features.
Takes great pictures.

Lol....not even close. The A620 is a toy that people put in their pocket for when they want to take spur of the moment photos while goofing around. It's not a serious camera.

However, if you want a camera like this and or in this price range, this is one of the better ones. None of the cameras in this class take good photos, IMHO, though.
