I personally think Sony has Canon beat here. The Canon A series tend to have shutter lag. The Sony tends to be a bit quicker when taking a shot, also the Sony has Carl Zeis lenses on there cameras which provide a much better photo. Canon normally puts cheap lenses in there lower end cameras.
