What's the best memory card (2gb, if possible) to buy for my Canon S3 IS (6 megs) digital camera?2GB is the largest card that some older digital cameras will accept. Yours may be new enough to enter the 4GB + arena. You can ask your local camera store about that.
While there have been some reports that fake memory cards are being sold on eBay, all memory cards sold by the national electronics and camera stores are good. Any brand will do. I have had no problems with the diverse cards I own. Sandisk Extreme IV memory cards are the best, most reliable brand out there. Just be careful not to get a counterfeit one--if the price is too good to be true, it's probably a counterfeit. The reason the Sandisk Extreme IV is counterfeited is because the genuine article is the best out there. Lexar!!! Love them! I used to work at a camera store and we had Scandisk cards constantly fail on our customers. I would go with two smaller cards to equal one larger card. It's much better to have more than one if it does fail. Lexar also includes a trial of a program called Photo Recovery... It's useful if the card does fail, and can save your images! |
