Which model is the best digital camera for travelers?which is the best camera Sony or canon?

Canon is always best for photography...my photography teacher says.
Although, I own a Sony. One of those thin ones (I forget what model)...and that sure is great for traveling! You can put it in your pocket/purse...it's so tiny!

I have a Canon Elph and it's great for travel. It not only has a high pixel level and takes great photos, but it also fits into your pocket for travel and sightseeing!

I have had three Sony cameras and I love them. No experience with Canon.

we just bought a 6 megapixel Olympus with a 2.5 inch screen for $199 at Office Max

SONY IS THE BEST!

defanetly sony

Forget cannon. They dont play fair with warrantys. I send my cannon for warranty and they didnt support me. Make this experiment: call their warranty depot and you will see that they wont even answer the phone. Now I have sony and im very happy

I love my Kodak EasyShare DX6490

I have Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-N1. It is small, but not the smallest cyber-shot that Sony makes. I love it b/c it too, fits in your pocket, 8.1 Mega-pixels, memory stick, and uses a touch screen to access all functions thus allowing for a large display window (3 inch screen) so I feel that Sony has it together for the traveler's camera.

The only drawback is the price of this particular Cyber-Shot. If you are a starving student and/or have a budget you have to live by, this camera something to ponder. However, there are other Cyber-Shots with different levels of pixel requirements.

I recommend taking a trip to the Sony store close to you, check them out on line, and make the decision best for what you want and can afford.

Don't even waste your money on a Sony camera. While Sony's camera aren't bad, they are not great. The top two camera companies are Nikon and Canon, you can't go wrong with either brand.

Sony doesn't stick to standards, like SD memory. Sony forces you to used their sub-par, more expensive propritary memory format. Which, you may have guessed it, only Sony cameras use that kind of memory. You will either be stuck with Sony cameras or have to spend more money for the standard in memory if you end up switch cameras.

For traveling, look for the Nikon S1, S2, S3, S5 and S6 or the Canon SD series. They are pocket thin, good for traveling. They all are solid cameras and worth their money. Great and easy to use point and shoot cameras.

no matter what, them answer is always going to be canon

i have a sony dsc h1. now sony has replaced it by dsc h2. its the best i could afford. no matter what u buy( sony or canon's equivalent model the s2 ls) u'll end u taking great pictures
