Digital Camera problems? |
I have a digital camera (Canon IXUS I 4mg Pixel bought Nov 04 from a website). Only used it once when I was in Vegas. Just after Dec 05 everytime it was turned on the screen was black and wouldn't display anything. I looked after it well and its been wrapped up in its box in a cupboard since then. I recently got it back out to test and it's still the same. Even though this happened just after the year's guarantee way back in 05 is there anything I can do as I'm peeved that I only used it once and it seems like I've flushed money down the drain. I seem to remember reading somewhere (consumer column in a paper perhaps) that it's still possible even after the guarantee runs out to do something. Any info would be appreciated. Well even though the guarantee has run out, the manufacturers may be still liable for any reasonable repairs for up to 5 years after purchase. I would look for a small button that says "DISP" on it, that changes the display from the LCD screen to the Look Through. I don't know if you camera does that but I know mine does. This happened to a friend of mine, she had taken the memory card out and inserted it the wrong way so when she turned it back on she couldnt get anything on the screen, you may have already done this so its just a long shot. Good luck. The time to take care of camera problems is within the warranty time. you have to pay for repairs |
