Pls kindly provide me advantage & disadvntage of these two camera. You can find an in-depth comparison of both cameras at the link below. What I like about D40x:
- better grip - definitely feels better in my hand
- Nikon have somewhat better flash system
- unlimited continuous mode
What I don't like about D40x:
- only 3 focus point
- need a third party if you want a battery grip
- only accept AF-S and AF-I if you want autofocus
- doesn't have automatic sensor cleaning system
What I like about 400D:
- 9 focus points, very useful.
- BG-E3 battery grip, very useful for someone with big hands like me
- automatic sensor cleaning system is a plus
- wider lens selection compared to the D40x.
What I don't like about 400D:
- without battery grip, it feels like an itty bitty tiny toy in my hand.
- built in flash is just hopelessly frustrating Both of the cameras are very capable of taking spectacular pictures. There is a misconception that, good camera always take sharp and excellent pictures. Basically quality lens makes the original difference. Popular photography magazine selects Nikon D40x product of the year. You can read the reviews at http://www.dpreview.com. Another article 鈥淏uilding a digital SLR system鈥?http://photo.net/equipment/building-a-di... at photo.net may help you to take your decision. Lastly, if you ask me which camera I choose, my answer would be Canon 400D with couple of Canon EF series lens. Because Canon is the market leader and Canon camera delivers excellent color.
Advantage and disadvantage is relative term for camera I think. Many people I know loves saturated color but some people like soft color. More you read reviews more you know.
