Considering everything ($,specs,etc), how does the canon powershot A520 digital camera rate on a scale of 1-10I bought one for my girlfriend after doing weeks of research. (I am a very advanced photographer, but I wanted to make sure I got the perfect camera for her needs). I shoot with a $1000+ digital SLR. Well after lots of research I found it was the best camera for the money, and she is thrilled with it. I'd rate it a 9.5. One thing I appreciate about it it has decent shutter lag for it's class and a nice lens. It also has all the automatic modes you would ever need, but if your so inclined to take your photography to the next level,and start talking about shutter speed and aperature, it has manual controls available. The pictures it's taken have been great. My second choice would have been a Panasonic Lumix (sp?). The great thing about those is they feature image stabilization which is quite helpful. It's weaker in some other areas however. I think you will enjoy your A520 if you decide to purchase it. It's GREAT! My wife got one for Christmas, and we love it. We're not totally digital picture freaks, but it works great for everyday pictures. |
