The batteries are charged. When I had the old memory card it wouldn't turn on; when I took the memory card out, it would turn on but wouldn't take pictures since there was no memory card inside. I figured the memory card gave out, so I went to purchase a 4gb card. It's not turning on when I insert the new memory card. Occasionally, if I keep pressing the on button over and over again, it turns on and says "memory card error". I know it's an older model....it was purchased in Sept. 2004 but it's never given me this problem. Help!!
I TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY ELECTRONICS AND I HAVE NEVER DROPPED IT. First, the 4GB card that you have is larger then you need for that camera and the camera might no be able to recognize a card of that size. Try a smaller card.
Second, there is a chance that one of the pins is bent. The CF card that it uses might have put in wrong and bent one. If you look inside you should be able to see if one is bent. there is also a chance that there is a sensor in the camera that connects to the memory card door. If there is a problem with this it can cause the camera to not turn on.
Odds are if you have to send it in for repair it will cost more then the camera is worth... it is either your memory insert in a wrong position, or maybe the slot broken. |
