I'm looking to buy a new digital camera and would like to stick around the $200-275 range. I've heard great things about the Canon SD600 and was wondering if anyone was familiar with this one??
What other digital cameras out there are nice? I'd like something relatively small, with a larger screen on the back....just something that takes good quality pics. Any suggestions? Canon's SD models are an excellent choice if you want an ultra compact camera, with great image quality & features.
The SD600 was a very popular model in it's time.
However, I would recommend Canon's newer SD model (SD1000), which is available in your price range. It has the newer & faster Digic III processor (including face detection) and a better battery life than the SD600.
SD1000...7.1MP, 2.5" LCD, with viewfinder
It has a battery life of approx. 210 shots...The SD600, 160 shots.
You would also have to buy an SD card (1-2GB recommended). Look as Sandisk Ultra II or Extreme III as a fast and reliable brand with a lifetime warranty.
good luck... Petra's right and you probably won't find the SD600 available anywhere anyhow as it has been replaced by the SD1000. The SD1000 is right at the top end of your price range at $275. |
