Help! All of a sudden my lens won't extend. It's contracted back into the camera and the cover is still open. When I power on, the blue screen comes on, then I hear a clicking noise inside but nothing happens and it automatically shuts down. Has anyone experienced this same problem with this camera and any idea how to fix it? I hate to say it, but the camera is probably a goner. It is probably not cost effective to fix it - it sounds like it might be impact damage. In any case, Canon charges a flat rate to fix and it is about $150.00. If it is still under warranty you might get lucky, but if it is out of warranty or obvious that it has been dropped then I wouldn't even bother sending it in for repair. New cameras are so inexpensive now you might as well replace it. sound s like you might have an electrical short, if you have a current warranty or an extended one, take the camera to the camera store where you purchased it from! if you do not have any warranty tell them you want an estiment be for you have it fixed! this sounds like this might be an expensive fix, I hope AM wrong!
