Need answers for Canon S3 IS Digital Camera?

Just purchased a Canon S3 IS...I will be taking a lot of pictures with this camera on my honeymoon. I would like to know what the best memory card would be...size wise.

Also, not very savy on electronic terms so bear with me,
can I purchase other lenses to go on this camera? I thought that a "power shot" meant that you could not change the lenses.

A 2GB card will hold about 600 to 700 high resolution photos. You can decide how many you need.

Another factor is whether you want to take video clips. Canon's S3 IS video is very good but takes A LOT of memory card space. Buy more cards if you want to do much of that.

To be double safe, you may want to get your cards copied to CD before you come home. Then you will have the pics on both memory cards and CD's.

"Powershot" is really just a marketing name. The S3 IS comes with a very wide range zoom lens. But if you want to add capability, Canon sells "adapter" lenses that screw on over the internal lens. There are "wide angle", "telephoto" and "closeup" adapters available for $100 to $150 each.

If you like landscape and building pics, get the wide-angle first. The internal wide angle is only about 35 mm.

If you want to shoot at far away subjects, the telephoto adapter almost doubles the magnification to over 700 mm. (But you have to hold the camera very still.)

The close-up adapter is for portraits or flowers.

Have Fun!!

Get at least 2 - 2GB SD cards ... more if you can afford them. The last 2GB cards I bought cost me under $20 each. If you won't have your notebook with you, you will defiantly need more cards.

This is a once in a lifetime trip, so shoot at maximum resolution so you can make large prints of your favorite images when you get back.

While you cannot change lenses, there are some bayonet lenses you can buy that fit over the end of your camera. What you will probably want is the wide angle version so you can get good landscapes. Your camera already has the telephoto part of the equation covered.

check manual for other lenses or go to canonusa.com

any brand memory card - 2 gb

I agree with everyone else...You should buy 2 2GB cards...
Here's a site that has them on sale for only $17.99 :
