The XTi is around $120 more than the XT, which isn't the problem, but is it really worth it to buy the XTi over the XT? Are the differences in picture quality worth the extra price, are the extra features worth the extra money, is the XTi a better overall investment? Should I just go the extra mile and get the XTi (since in a few years the 8MP XT will be obsolete, to quote Steve Jobs :P) I've looked at both and would say that the extra money to get the XTi is worth it. In my opinion just the much larger LCD on the back is worth the difference to my aging eyes, but the CCD has been redesigned with a couple of new features. It has an anti-static coating to help prevent dust from settling on the CCD and causing spots on your photos and shakes itself off to help dislodge any dust that might get on it.
You probably won't see any difference from 8MP to 10MP unless you are blowing up small portions of the image to a large size, so that isn't as much a factor as the other design differences.

http://www.CameraRepairs.com I heard that people like the xt as well and even more than the xti I've only briefly looked at the XTi, but have playe with several XT's. Personally, if I was going to buy one right now, I'd go with the XT. The extra 2 MP isn't going to add a lot of resolution, but it does add some noise at higher ISO's. If you plan to shoot in dark conditions a lot, it would definately pay to get the XT.
Of course, there are a couple other niceties like the big screen on the XTi, so it might be best to see if you can handle both, and see what works best for you.
