How do you turn the flash off on the Canon A530 digital camera?

Press the round switch on the back of the camera using the side that has the little lightning bolt on it. This will give you a choice between auto flash or no flash, which is shown with one of those "NO" emblems using a circle and a slash. Press the same button to highlight the NO FLASH symbol and you're done.
