Is the Canon A570IS digital camera the best choice in the $200 price range? |
A related question is: Are there any serious negatives that would another make or model more desirable. According to Website dpreview.com Beach Camera is selling the following model for $189 and I see nothing wrong with it. The Canon PowerShot A630. 4X optical zoom, 8 megapixels, better than average on AA rechargeable batteries, and takes an excellent 8X10 when enlarged. Also has manual controls. I suggest you buy at least a 2 GB memory card, since you'll be shooting at it's best setting of 8 megapixels. According to my chart should give you about 500 shots. Thanks for the points. Report It Yes, I think the A570 IS would make an excellent camera choice, especially at a budget price. It includes an optical image stabilizer and full manual controls which is a big plus...not to mention the excellent image quality. I agree with both above me. The A630 is certainly worth considering for the same money, but the A570-IS is attractive with image stabilization at that price. The A630 has a slight pixel advantage and it has the larger sensor (twice as big as the A570-IS) to take advantage of that. My brother loves his A630 and my son loves his A620, but neither one has image stabilzation. |
