What is the best digital camera brand (Canon, Casio, HP, Sony, Nikon, etc)?

I'm looking at buying a digital camera from ebay, and I don't really know what the best brand is. I'm spending between $200-250

Best brand is Sony.

Firstly, if you dont know enough about cameras, DONT buy on Ebay. Not that they dont sell good stuff, but its better you check out nikon/canon/sony stores or on the web. Overall, canon should be your best bet

I'm a Nikon guy and as much as I hate to admit it, Canon does make damn fine products in that price range.
I'd lean towards Canon or Kodak.
